SHORE ANGLING
SAFARI'S
Custom-built 4x4 safari
landrovers take you out of the main hotel
resort area over bush and beach
along Gambia's southern seaboard.
Here, numerous
sandy bays edged
with
rocky outcrops and
shallow reefs
provide the ideal environment for
the passionate shore
angler.
A day trip is approximately 7 hours. Anglers can choose from a variety
of methods including both bait and
lure fishing.
Our shore
angling fishing guides are very
experienced and are the
official
Marshall's for the
West African Shore Angling
competitions. Expert advice is given
to beginners and the knowledgeable
and friendly staff are on hand
throughout.
Shore angling in The Gambia is so
diverse that almost any combination
of tackle can be used. For beach
angling in the open sandy bays a
conventional beach casting outfit is
often used to punch out the bait
beyond the surf line.
Alternatively, lighter spinning
outfits are also a popular choice
and are used effectively when
fishing from the rocks and scars.
For shore angling in the Gambia there is fishing available at any
time of the year and any state of
the tide.
You are advised to bring your own
tackle, alternatively it can be
hired free of charge from the operator.
Target Species can include:
Shovel-nosed Rays (Guitarfish),
Stingrays, Catfish, Threadfin Salmon, Cobb,
Jacks, Barracuda, Butterfish, plus
many other species.
"African
Angler" shore angling excursions are
booked on a per person basis or alternatively
you might like to charter the land rover exclusively
for yourself or
private group.
